February 10th 2002 - Oakland (OAK) Gnoss
So a couple of weeks have passed again without flying - finally Jeremy and I managed to meet at the airport: Pilot *check*, Instructor *check*, Weather *check*, Plane *check check*! My medial got renewed the weekend before so we would have to go through the requirements for the Biennial Flight Review making sure that all procedures are engraved into memory. After that I will be allowed to go flying on my own.
This time I felt confident to do all the radiowork so I got the clearance to take 739UL out of Oakland, departing runway 15. We headed for San Pablo Bay and started out with slow flight, power-off and power-on stalls and steep turns. Satisfied Jeremy showed me an emergency decend and I took the plane into the uncontrolled Gnoss.
We had to turn on the runway lights by the time the 1st circuit was done. A couple of touch&go's let me practice the flare before heading back. I managed to find Oakland airport again and put her down on 27R. Nice flying! :)
